absolut-boston1

I am so excited and I don’t even drink vodka.  Being from New England, like many other areas, places a certain pride in Boston.  The wonderful people at Absolut decided to make a bunch of limited run Boston edition flavor.  I like to think that, from my heritage, that they would have at least put Guiness in the vodka but sadly no.  They decided, due to the Boston Tea Party, they added tea to it.  One of the really cool things about the bottle is the Green Monster background on the label.  Here is an except of the write up or something…damn it is early.

Absolute Vodka is paying tribute to Boston by creating a special edition brew just for the Hub.

The Swedish spirit maker is out with a new limited edition flavor — black tea and elderflower vodka. The company’s marketing president said the significance of tea in Boston’s history is well known, which is why it was included as an ingredient.

The label on the bottle has a Green Monster-like backdrop.

Absolut plans to toast the city Wednesday with the unveiling of a “Wall of Pride” on Boylston Plaza at the Prudential Center and former “Cheers” bartender Eddie Doyle will preside.

Special tiles on the structure that have quotes from notable Bostonians will be auctioned off to raise money for the Charles River Conservancy.

The Boston-flavored vodka is the third the company has rolled out since 2007 after starting with Los Angeles and New Orleans. Absolute Vodka is paying tribute to Boston by creating a special edition brew just for the Hub.

Bathynomus_giganteus

Now I promise you this is a real creature.  It’s scientific name is Bathynomus Giganteus part of the gigantic IsoPods.  So after seeing this picture, I decided that just like in Australia, everything in the ocean is going to try and kill me.  These little minions of death live at the bottom of the ocean, scavenge for food but are also known to hunt fish, and are carnivores!!!!!  Here is an excerpt of what Wiki had to say about these things:

Maturing to a length between 19 and 37 centimetres (7.5 and 15 in)[1], and maximally reaching a weight of approximately 1.7 kilograms (3.7 lb) in B. giganteus, giant isopods are a good example of deep-sea gigantism (cf. giant squid); most other isopods range in size from 1 to 5 centimetres (0.39 to 2.0 in). Their morphology is nonetheless familiar to most people as giant isopods closely resemble their terrestrial cousin, the woodlouse.

touch mirror

I think my brain just lost it’s sh*t man.

Ok sorry about that…I can’t even think now so here is part of the write up on it.

Electric Mirror, known for its Mirror TV, has recently gone one step ahead with the launch of “Touch” surface computing mimicking the Microsoft Surface. Touch is mainly aimed at the hospitality industry. It offers guests access to the latest news headlines and the ability to search the surrounding area for restaurants, bars and other places of interest to ramp up a hotel’s “wow” factor. Touch uses latest innovations to provide a complete solution, from project management and customer service to design-engineering, production and system integration.

No indication of pricing yet. Check out the press release here.

sony walkman

Ok so I was looking at the new Sony Walkman S Series and asked myself, “Self, When the hell are they finally going to change the layout of Media Players?” As far as I am concerned, Just about every personal media player(PMP) out there has the same damn controls, the same media library layout, the same everything.  Maybe they just make one or two types of PMP and just re-brand the damn things.

The one PMP I am waiting for is the one from BOSE that they are probably never going to make.  I could see spending the $400 for a BOSE system with headsets.  Oh Well Check out the write up on these “pretty” PMP
‘s. Maybe Sony made a pact with Disney seeing how the buttons look like Mickey?!
